Maya Kingma is finding her own way through the world of triathlon. Maya is passionate about leaving the world in a better place than she found it – forging a path others can follow and treading lightly as she goes.
Starting as a long distance swimmer, where she won multiple national junior championships, she made the jump to triathlon when she was 16. Overcoming many injuries and other obstacles, she finally saw her breakthrough year in 2020.
By winning her first WTCS race in Leeds and compete in the Tokyo Olympics, 2021 was the year of confirmation and improvement. Maya is determined to keep improving, as she has a single-minded focus on becoming the best version of herself she can possibly be.
